Hygiene and a dash of male toxicity

The Dynamics of Attraction and Personal Presentation

This deleted scene delves into the impact of accents,

attire, and presentation on perceived attractiveness. It humorously explores

how accents, specifically Australian and British, can significantly boost

someone's allure. Furthermore, it recounts a personal anecdote highlighting the

instant appeal uniforms, particularly navy dress whites, can generate in

public, contrasting with the lack of attention in civilian clothes. The

narrative touches on the universal appeal of a clean, presentable look and

humorously suggests hygiene and effort in appearance as key factors to

enhancing attractiveness.

[00:00:15] James: a lot.

[:

[00:00:16] James: Right.

[:

[00:00:19] James: A little bit from each butt cheek. You gotta even it out.

[:

[00:00:47] Phil: Okay. Okay. But if she has an Australian accent, in my mind, she's automatically bumped up to say an eight or a nine.

[:

[00:00:56] Phil: Pretty much Australian, but British too. For you,

[:

[00:00:59] Phil: And [00:01:00] British too.

[:

[00:01:01] Phil: But especially Australian.

[:

[00:01:05] Phil: I, I, maybe I don't know enough about that accent.

[:

[00:01:23] Sherry: another plus two. So she's a, that six is a ten. You see what I'm saying? Y'all should have heard this man.[00:01:30]

[:

[00:01:43] Phil: Now, this is, this is a true story. And I love my wife and all that, but we went out to dinner. I want to

[:

[00:01:49] James: I love my wife. Yada, yada,

[:

[00:02:00] Chris: yeah.

[:

[00:02:05] Phil: Waitress comes up, I'm not looking. So it comes my time to order and I look up to order and I couldn't speak. Are you kidding? I, I was like, she was, I, I mean, when I say, yes, anyway, it's a girl. I mean, it was

[:

[00:02:23] Phil: Yes. And then, so I finally got my order out and she said, thank you. Whatever I said, yes, ma'am.

[:

[00:02:40] Chris: Carrie Ellis and our accents can elevate your attractiveness. Yes. And so, yeah, there's probably something to that. I think so.

[:

[00:02:54] Phil: I know that I am not anything special to look at. Okay. But if you had an exit. [00:03:00] Hold on. Right.

[:

[00:03:05] Phil: into Melbourne and of course you always have to go to these official functions, you know, you're a ship pulling in. So we, we, we dress up in our dress whites and we're going to this special function.

[:

[00:03:19] Chris: Right, and you didn't have hippie hair either.

[:

[00:03:32] Phil: I'm like, I like Melbourne. Okay, so after all that's over, next day you got shore leave. In my civilian clothes walking down the street, I get nothing . Right. Yeah. I'm telling you, the uniform has gotta be at least a plus two or four. Alright. In Australia it's

[:

[00:03:51] James: Whether it's attractiveness or just out of respect. Well, you know,

[:

[00:03:54] Sherry: guess I, it's something about that white, the, the, now you probably, they [00:04:00] called

[:

[00:04:01] Sherry: Did you have the choker on that? That one? Yeah, we did. Oh, there is, there's something about that uniform. So, yeah, it may have started with the officer and gentlemen, I don't know.

[:

[00:04:10] James: what kind of choker were you wearing?

[:

[00:04:15] James: so I'm just trying to, to narrow this down. So a clean presentable look is probably attractive to most people. It's what I'm thinking. Which has always been my problem. No, James. You're like, when I put on all this, When I clean [00:04:30] up and put some fucking effort into going out, I get more looks.

[:

[00:04:36] Phil: fucking

[:

[00:04:38] Phil: Phil. Hygiene! Who'da thought? Anyway. Now. Yeah,

[:

[00:04:48] Phil: then you just, Then you don't need

About your hosts

Philip McClimon

Profile picture for Philip McClimon
Philip A. McClimon is an author who likes to write about the end of the world (post apocalyptic, Sci/Fi), mostly because he thinks the shopping would be awesome (No crowds, everything free). He likes heroes that are the strong, silent type and not necessarily male. By silent he means up until the time there is something snarky to say, usually before, during, and after doing something cool.

He writes Urban Fantasy under the name Billy Baltimore for no other reason than that he likes the name. Many of the same rules for his other stories apply to Billy’s, strong silent types, smart mouth, does cool stuff, but these stories take place in a made up town called Hemisphere and involve stuff you only ever hear about on late night conspiracy talk show podcasts, which are, if you think about it, pretty awesome too.

So, that's Phil. He's not strong, rarely silent, and isn't known for doing a lot of cool things.

But his characters are.

Sherry McClimon

Profile picture for Sherry McClimon
The wife of Philip McClimon. Probably all that needs to be said. She is responsible for his bad behavior not being worse than it is. She is concerned that her mother might listen.

James Harris

Profile picture for James Harris
James Harris is a tech guru and musician extraordinaire; he also loves movies. A pretty decent guy all around.

Chris Sapp

Profile picture for Chris Sapp
Chris Sapp has been a friend for a lot of years and a writer for a lot more. An encyclopedic knowledge of story and movies, he can take you on a deep dive into script and screen. Another pretty decent guy, which are the only kind allowed around here.
