[:

[00:00:10] Sherry: remember the first time I saw the Big Lebowski because I didn't like it.

[:

[00:00:18] James: I think I've heard that a lot of people didn't really get it the first time.

[:

[00:00:28] Chris: Yeah. Latent is watch it again. Like he's [00:00:30] in that category right now. And it like, it pains my, my heart and my soul that he's like, nah, I'm good. I don't want to watch it again.

[:

[00:00:48] Sherry: yeah. Cause once she.

[:

[00:00:56] James: good, this movie doesn't make sense. Like I didn't know what this [00:01:00] movie was about.

[:

[00:01:01] James: I didn't figured it out.

[:

[00:01:15] Phil: Anyway, we'll get into that when we get into the beats. Um, yeah. Oh, so, uh, one thing I wanted to say before I forgot. Uh, Obviously festivals have grown up around this, you can get ordained in the church of the dude, you can be a dudist [00:01:30]

[:

[00:01:34] James: I did it about, uh, 16 years ago, 17 years ago.

[:

[00:01:45] Phil: no, I think it

[:

[00:01:47] James: No, you pretty much, uh, I think as long as you're in good standing with the church and Texas, at least they can marry people.

[:

[00:02:03] Phil: Is that something that appeals to you, Phil? Uh, I, I'd actually have to go out and do the weddings then. And that does not appeal to me. So I'm aware of that.

[:

[00:02:12] James: conflicts with his obligations.

[:

[00:02:16] Chris: you've

[:

[00:02:17] Chris: before. Are you still ordained to do that? Does that expire? How does that work? I have to go on a tangent, but I'll just.

[:

[00:02:39] Phil: So, uh, I'm still in good standing, but I'm no longer like, um, what they call a member of presbytery or whatever. So I would have to

[:

[00:02:50] Phil: don't have a church or anything like that. So I would have to find a church, get into a presbytery, you know, locally to sort of reinstate all that.

[:

[00:02:59] James: [00:03:00] hard. Yeah, yeah. Uh, the

[:

[00:03:02] James: is They got a lot of rules. Yeah, a lot of rules, man. Welcome to the dudist. Yeah. We don't have many rules.

[:

[00:03:09] Chris: But in order to get married and it to be legit, right, if you're doing it, I guess outside of the, with the justice of the peace, like if somebody ordains over your marriage, they have to be certified to do that, correct?

[:

[00:03:24] James: you know, the government has said, okay, you can get married once you apply for the license. That's [00:03:30] it. Yeah. So the, all the rest of it's just, I think have whoever you want. Yeah. Ceremony. Ceremony. Okay. All right. As long as the paperwork's filed, they, and they get their money.

[:

[00:03:39] Sherry: And some places, if you live together long enough, you're

[:

[00:03:49] Chris: Somebody. Yeah. I thought they had to be like certified to do that. I didn't think you could have anybody up there just saying some shit.

[:

[00:04:02] Phil: Yeah. Okay.

[:

[00:04:12] Phil: culture that is surrounded this movie between the festivals, the dudism. Books have been written. I myself have read a couple of books. Uh, I'm a Lebowski. You're a Lebowski is one of them. There's all kinds of books written about.

[:

[00:04:29] James: [00:04:30] you and me. We're

[:

[00:04:35] Sherry: the name of that book is really I'm a Lebowski. You're a little bit. Yeah, big Lebowski

[:

[00:04:40] Sherry: should say yes Yes, somewhere.

[:

[00:04:44] James: Bunny's

[:

[00:04:47] James: going now Okay, so money critics fans. I guess the third time we said money critics fans. Yeah I did the bumper for money critics. I don't think I did yet and a banner and a better. [00:05:00] All right, so we're covered But yeah

About your hosts

Philip McClimon

Profile picture for Philip McClimon
Philip A. McClimon is an author who likes to write about the end of the world (post apocalyptic, Sci/Fi), mostly because he thinks the shopping would be awesome (No crowds, everything free). He likes heroes that are the strong, silent type and not necessarily male. By silent he means up until the time there is something snarky to say, usually before, during, and after doing something cool.

He writes Urban Fantasy under the name Billy Baltimore for no other reason than that he likes the name. Many of the same rules for his other stories apply to Billy’s, strong silent types, smart mouth, does cool stuff, but these stories take place in a made up town called Hemisphere and involve stuff you only ever hear about on late night conspiracy talk show podcasts, which are, if you think about it, pretty awesome too.

So, that's Phil. He's not strong, rarely silent, and isn't known for doing a lot of cool things.

But his characters are.

Sherry McClimon

Profile picture for Sherry McClimon
The wife of Philip McClimon. Probably all that needs to be said. She is responsible for his bad behavior not being worse than it is. She is concerned that her mother might listen.

James Harris

Profile picture for James Harris
James Harris is a tech guru and musician extraordinaire; he also loves movies. A pretty decent guy all around.

Chris Sapp

Profile picture for Chris Sapp
Chris Sapp has been a friend for a lot of years and a writer for a lot more. An encyclopedic knowledge of story and movies, he can take you on a deep dive into script and screen. Another pretty decent guy, which are the only kind allowed around here.
